Masking Tape

William Masking Tape is a premium quality universal grade tape that can be used on virtually any surface be it painted surface, trim, metal, glass or woodwork or hardwood floors. It is a medium adhesion tape that prevents penetration of paints and thinners. Thus it is used to create multiple effects and achieve preciseness during application of paint/polish. With the use of American quality standards, we have been able to achieve excellent results. Our product can be applied to almost all surfaces and can be removed easily with minimal residue.

Method of Application of Tape on the Surface

Apply the tape in increments of approximately 12" as opposed to one long strip. If you apply painting tape in one long strip it stretches the tape, referred to as flagging, preventing the tape from laying flat and sticking to the surface. This result is paint bleeding under the tape, which leaves an unclean edge.

Method of Removal of Tape from the Surface

To remove, slowly pull the tape off at a 135-degree angle toward yourself. However, if the painted surface is completely dry use a cutting device (like a razor blade) to cut the tape loose to ensure a crisp, clean line.

For best results, always ensure:

  • The surface is Dust-free so that there is no unevenness in application.
  • The surface is Dry so that product can stick properly without tarnishing the surface it is applied on.
  • Check the product suitability before applying in bulk by applying to a small patch.

Residue left from William Masking Tape is minimal, but can easily be removed using soap and water, or window cleaner. We recommend the use of a citrus-based cleaner .
